Below you'll find the cards I consider potentially standard constructed playable from Khans of Tarkir along with a rating (0-10) below each card. I approached each rating using the evaluation process I spoke of in my earlier posts. To give you an impression of what the numbers might mean, 0 would be the worst card in the format, 10 the best. This scale should give you something more quantitative:
0.0 to 2.5 - Nothing here. Essentially unplayable
3.0 to 4.0 - Filler cards for very specific decks, or typically cards used in sideboards
4.5 to 6.0 - Cards that will see play over and over in many strategies; the meat and drink of your deck
6.5 to 8.0 - The power cards in an archetype, the incentives for playing the strategy you are
8.5 - 10.0 - (Multi) format all stars, among the most powerful cards available to a deck builder.
Every card from the set will have some rating but when it gets too low, it's not worth consideration.Windswept Heath and the rest of it's cycle share the same rating of 9.0. I have also applied the same rating initially to all of the lands from the common cycle of 3.0
I'd appreciate feedback as always. I'll edit rating here as time goes by but keep a running track of any changes to see how accurate initial ones were.
Next up, some deck lists. Nothing exotic, just simply looking at what kind of strategies the best cards from Khans and the best cards from Theros block and Magic 2015 naturally suggest.
Check back later for those but for now, ratings (group by Wedge with non-aligned at the end)
